Our Wonderful Wednesdays provide something for everyone, with a meal beginning at 5:30 followed by a wide variety of activities. The first Wonderful Wednesday for this school year is September 6. Below are a few of the things that you can choose from, with a brief description of each.
Wonderful Wednesday Meal
Join us from 5:30 p.m-6:30 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Meet our terrific cook, Ms. Tonja Reed & have loads of fun! Enjoy a special “welcome back” menu on August 6, and experience some other surprises. Meet your friends for supper & make some new friends! For more information call 620-227-8181.
Our Reality Zone youth ministry is for youth grades 6-12. This year our theme is “Live Heroically” as we discover how characteristics of superheroes intersect with our faith. Each week we will highlight a different hero, who will help us uncover the message of Christ. Throughout the year, we will learn that we, too, can live heroically. RZ meets each Wednesday in the RZ Room. Middle School meets from 4:15-7:30 with a game, dinner, worship, and discussion. The High School group meets from 5:30-8:15 with dinner, worship, discussion, and an activity.
Our children’s ministry meets every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month from 6:30-7:30, as we host Faith Family Nights. Families of all ages are encouraged to come together to learn and experience a Bible story. This year’s theme is “Learn and Serve”. As we meet on the 1st Wednesdays, we will learn. Then on the 3rd Wednesdays, families will gather to create, do, go, and find ways to Serve.
A new Small Group opportunity will be offered all four Wednesday’s of September. Beginning on September 6 from 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. in the Church Library a Small Group study will explore the United Methodist Social Principles. Each participant will receive their own copy of the 2017-2020 Social Principles as we all will be encouraged to review, learn, and engage in discussion.
The Social Principles are an important piece of the Book of Discipline – a guide for United Methodists. The Social Principles cover a wide array of socially driven topics, providing language, reflection, and study as to how humanity relates God’s creativeness and activity in the universe. For those who desire to further develop their faith journey and or enrich their knowledge regarding what the global United Methodist stands for or against, this study might be just what you are looking for.
Each week we have opportunities to participate in music ministries. Our Sanctuary Choir meets from 6:30-7:30 for rehearsal in the West Choir Room. The Sanctuary Choir sings each Sunday in the traditional worship service. Our Bell Choir rehearses from 7:30-8:30 in the East Choir Room. The Bell Choir plays at each of our worship services on special Sundays throughout the year. Our Contemporary Praise Band practices from 6:30-8:30 each week in the Fellowship Hall. The praise band leads our contemporary worship each Sunday.
