As I was growing up I don’t remember going to camp as a child. My parents were very overprotective. I do remember going to family camp, but not as a church. Within the church family there was a group of friends that loved adventure. Once in a while, they programmed a camping day for the family. I can close my eyes and see Sequoia park. The big trees, and the river, cold water running through my toes. It may not have been a church camp, but we did praise the Lord. Every morning we had a devotional prayer and songs. At night we had a fireplace, read the Bible, and sang. I encourage you to stop being the overprotective parent and trust Camp Lakeside with your children. Let them have fun and enjoy the outdoors. Lakeside is all about that having fun!
Camp provides amazing opportunities for youth and children to encounter God in the beauty of nature. Each year, this church pays half of the cost of all campers, because we believe so strongly in the ministry that happens at camp.
